Salima Vellani is a graduate of the London School of Economics with a BSC (Hons) in Management Science and an MSc in International Finance. Salima has over 20 years of strategic consulting, corporate finance and venture capital experience with such notable institutions as Arthur Andersen Business Consulting at the Stanford Research Institute’s Venture Capital Subsidiary.
In the last five years Salima has made a name for herself in the global branding business by working with some of the most well-known and significant brands in the world in various aspects of their global growth. Her focus has been on capital raising, corporate finance and brand strategy for major brands in emerging markets and has expanded her remit in to growth in both the UK and European markets as well.
Salima, a well respected and rare F&B entrepreneur with a global footprint and ownership across four continents brings her global know-how of the F&B space across the high end, casual and premium fast casual sectors to GHAM and is the strategic force behind the company's vision and brand direction.
Salima is also a partner in Bagatelle International with outlets in such notable locations as St Tropez, St Barths, Rio, Sao Paolo, Dubai, Punta Del Este with Monaco, Mykonos, Mexico City and London in the near future.
Munir Sati has been a pioneer in the entertainment field developing some of the most recognized lifestyle concepts in the region such as Deep Nights, Club 400 and Cavalli Club and most recently Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE. Munir graduated from Citi University in London specializing in Business.
In 2000, after graduating, he decided to set up an IT business which continues to achieve tremendous success across the region. Following some major business successes, Munir was the CEO of Pragma group with 13 companies under him by the age of 28. Wanting to diversify his activities, he set up B-Marketing, a market leader in the highly competitive field of corporate events. Vibe, his next company was a natural fit for Munir. Considered as one of the very best in strategic public event organizers he revolutionized the entertainment business by bringing to the Middle East acclaimed Broadway shows like Shaolin Monks , Stomp and more than 15 concerts with A list artists such as Lauryn Hill, Black Eyed Peas, Jamiroquai , Lionel Richie among many others. The full range of events was reached when Munir created Deep Nights in 2005 and quickly became the biggest weekly dance event in the MENA region.
Very quickly, Munir radically changed the clubbing scene in the region by introducing for the 1st time DJs like Erick Morillo, David Guetta, Bob Sinclar, Groove Armada, Deep Dish, and many others. Expanding into the life style business, he created the most famous clubs in MENA including Club 400 and Cavalli club. He parted with Pragma in 2010 to pursue new challenges and set up Demind Lifestyle in 2011 and then partnered with Salima Vellani to launch GHAM soon after where he oversees the Company's overall operational direction.
Murtaza Akbar is the CEO and Founding Partner of Variety Worldwide LLC, an international hospitality company with projects in NYC, London and Dubai managing the Queen of the Night, The Box and The Act brands. Murtaza has 15 years of management, corporate strategy and investment banking experience working with top hospitality and finance firms focusing on business development and brand expansion.
Murtaza has experience investing in, structuring and financing all types of real estate, entertainment and hospitality deals completing over $8.0 billion dollars of transactions. Murtaza served as the CIO, CFO and President of MENA & Asia for the internationally renowned Cipriani group. He was responsible for overseeing all of Cipriani’s worldwide investments including acquisitions, financings and new business ventures. Murtaza oversaw a global portfolio of 20 venues spread over 8 global cities including hotels, luxury residential, restaurants, event productions and nightclubs. Prior to, Murtaza was a founding member and VP/Director of Acquisitions at the hedge fund Petra Capital completing over $3.5 billion of debt and equity transactions. Murtaza also worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse and Barclays Capital, advising real estate, hospitality, entertainment and ultra-high net worth clients. Akbar graduated with honors from the University of Chicago where he was a Howard Hughes fellow and coauthored 3 publications. He completed the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s Series 7 and 63 license exams and has been a guest speaker at Harvard Business School. He is also a Partner in Bistro Bagatelle International (St Barts, Sao Paolo, St Tropez, Dubai) . He supports non-profits focusing on education, women’s empowerment and clean water.
